Embroidery of all kinds is practiced, explored, enjoyed and shared. There are workshops and classes to suit beginners through to the more experienced embroiderer.
.
Regular gatherings also enable members to share knowledge, experiences and have fun. The aim is to offer a friendly, relaxed and enjoyable environment for young and old to share their love of needle and textile arts.
.
The Port Pirie Branch celebrates 48 years this year. It was formed in 1973 by Heather Langford and Helen Wilson who were both members of the NSW Guild.
.
In 1975 the first formal meeting took place with 8 members present and 4 apologies. One of the original members, Johan Ahola is still a very active member.

Launching tonight from 5pm In Domestic Arts Sera W Launching tonight from 5pm
In Domestic Arts Sera Waters delves into her own family history to unravel the complexities of settler colonial home-making and the contemporary significance of traditional home-crafts. Large-scale sculptures and intricate embroideries are used to re-imagine the familial home, celebrating the knowledge and creativity of ‘women’s work’, while interrogating its complicity in forms of colonisation and privilege.
Presented by @countryarts_sa in partnership with @ace_open .
