Embroidery of all kinds is practiced, explored, enjoyed and shared in the Port Pirie Branch of Embroiderers Guild. There are workshops and classes to suit beginners through to the more experienced embroiderer.
Regular gatherings also enable members to share knowledge, experiences and have fun. The aim is to offer a friendly, relaxed and enjoyable environment for young and old to share their love of needle and textile arts.
The Port Pirie Branch celebrates 48 years this year. It was formed in 1973 by Heather Langford and Helen Wilson who were both members of the NSW Guild.
In 1975 the first formal meeting took place with 8 members present and 4 apologies. One of the original members, Johan Ahola is still a very active member.
